What is Hydroponics?
Hydroponic farming is the science of cultivating plants in a nutrient rich solution without soil as a growing medium.
Hydroponic farming is not a new concept in agriculture or food production. The practice or growing plants without soil can be dated back to over 100 years ago.
Hydroponic farming is not a new concept in agriculture or food production. The practice or growing plants without soil can be dated back to over 100 years ago.
Hydroponics comes from the Latin words "hydro" meaning water and "ponos" meaning labor.
Advantages of Hydroponic Farming
Space
Plants are grown in an inert growth medium, provided a nutrient rich solution and produce higher yields in less space than traditional soil farming.
Growth
Electro-conductivity, pH, water temperature, ambient temperature, light, O2, CO2, humidity and air circulation are controlled in a perfectly balanced growing environment.
Healthy growing conditions=healthy plants

Environmental Impact
Harmful synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and insecticides are not used in our hydroponic greenhouse. A balanced and controlled environment encourages plant health and vitality; faster growth & harvest rates increases production yields and turnover. These factors reduce the risk of insect and/or disease infestations.
One of the benefits of hydroponics is water conservation. Soil isn't apart of the growing equation, therefore a grower is aware of the exact amount of water needed by a plant to provide adequate growth. Many hydroponic growing techniques recirculate water allowing unused water to be recycled and reused. During times of drought, this is a huge environmental advantage as it does not put a strain on
already limited resources.

Slow Flowers.
Pesticide-Free.
Safe to Sniff.
Our flowers are grown intentionally & without the use of harmful pesticides. We believe the flowers benefit the farm, our local pollinators & customers alike. The inclusion of perennial & annual flower fields on the farm beautifies the land and also creates essential habitat for beneficial insects and wildlife.
